About Catherine
~ I’m a Scorpio, with a Pisces moon and a Capricorn ascendant (maybe that’s why I’m so short and walk like a goat!).
~ When I was a child, I did a lot of sleepwalking. Even tried to snitch a Coke from the fridge one night and had no recollection of it the next day.
~ When I was twelve years old, I saw the Beatles perform in Atlanta stadium. It was an event I will never forget. George was always my favorite.
~ Favorite colors: red, black (can you say Scorpio?), and purple.
~ Favorite foods: Chocolate, bread with lots of real butter, peanut butter, Chinese, and Italian.
~ Favorite beverages: Water (Scorpio *is* a water sign), coffee, wine.

~ Favorite T.V. shows: Without a Trace, Medium, The Closer, Law and Order, House (yeah, I like police procedurals and snarly Dr. House. I also like drama, a trait I’ve apparently passed down to my daughter—sigh.)
~ Favorite Music: Extremely varied, from The Beatles to Joe Walsh to Norah Jones to “Babra” (Streisand) to The Eagles to Josh Groban to Rachmaninoff.
~ I’m an avid card player, and love bridge and black jack, although I rarely play.
~ I have six pets: two dogs, three cats, one husband.
~ I celebrated the sale of my first book, Shielder, by drinking champagne from a plastic cowboy boot mug. My critique partners brought four of them to my house, along with the champagne. Drinking champagne from those cowboy boot mugs every time one of us sold a book became a tradition, which we still honor occasionally.
Catherine's Bio
I’m probably best known for my science fiction romance Shielder series. The five books in the series have garnered numerous awards: the prestigious Romance Writers of America® RITA award nomination for best paranormal, two Romantic Times nominations for best paranormal, two P.E.A.R.L. honorable mentions; finalists in the HOLT Medallion, National Readers Choice, and Bookseller’s Best contests, and winning the Aspen Gold and the Laurel Wreath. I have to admit that these contests do offer validation in a business that can be very tough. But my readers give me even greater incentive to keep creating stories.
Now I’m writing a new paranormal romance Sentinel series: dark, edgy and sensual stories set on current-day Earth. I’ve also written a vampire/prostitute novella (no clue where that idea came from!), and I hope to expand my horizons with other types of stories. But I’ll always write romance, because I firmly believe in the empowerment of love. (Not to mention the allure of bad-boy heroes.)
I’ve been interested in metaphysical topics since I was eleven, and in the power of the mind, and the creative process. I live in Richardson, Texas with my own personal hero (AKA husband) and a menagerie of dogs and cats. I love reading, listening to music, taking naps on the sofa with a good football game for background noise, and eating chocolate (not necessarily in that order).
